When camping we’re forced to downsize. There’s simply not enough storage space for everything we want to bring with us. However, with camping cabinets you can bring all your favorite SpongeBob SquarePants panties with you.

Sounds convincing? Let’s put on our dirty ol’ scuba masks and dive straight into the top 10 best camping cabinets that money can buy in 2022.

💡
The cabinets in this post are portable camping cabinets. If you’re looking for actual cabinets, check out my other post on RV cabinets.

1. Roadie Camping Organizer

The reason I’ve decided to give the first place to the Roadie Camping Organizer is because of the insanely low price point and the fact that it’s surprisingly lightweight while still being sturdy.

Each of the 9 shelves can support up to 30 lb. and the whole thing measures just 16,7″ x 14,2″ x 2,9″ and weighs just 4 lb. when folded away.

You can also use it without anchoring it to the ground since the weight of the stuff you put in it will keep it from flying away or tipping over when it’s windy.

One thing to note is that you’ll need to be careful when feeding the poles through the sleeves. To be honest, they’re not the most durable sleeves 🙂

✅ Pros

  • Surprisingly cheap
  • Folds away super tiny
  • Lots of storage space

❌ Cons

  • Pole sleeves rip easily
  • Won’t keep bugs away
  • Difficult to assemble

2. CamPart Travel Cupboard

The CamPart Travel Cupboard is a lot more expensive than the Roadie coming in at $122 which is more than twice the price. And that’s definitely something you can feel when you receive the CamPart 🙂

The four height adjustable aluminum legs are extremely sturdy and the shelves are made of hard plastic instead of fabric. The only downside is the leg adjuster. It doesn’t work the way you’d imagine and feels flimsy compared to the rest of the unit.

What I like about the CamPart the most is probably the solid base which it stands on. It’s very secure and won’t suddenly flip over.

All in all, it’s a great camping cabinet that’ll likely last you years into the future but it comes at a relatively tall price tag.

✅ Pros

  • Feels very well built
  • Raised from the ground
  • Secure from bugs

❌ Cons

  • Packs a tad large
  • Adjustable legs feel flimsy
  • Very pricey

3. Timber Ridge Cupboard

Don’t let the size fool you. The Timber Ridge Cupboard features 3 plastic shelves that support up to 66 lb. each. If you can’t find your dog, you know where to look 🙂

When folded it measures 23,6″ x 19,6″ x 3,9″ which makes it really easy to stow away when you’re not using it. But trust me, you’ll want to use it.

There are also a few pockets on each side of the cupboard where you can put smaller items such as glasses, batteries, or tools.

The only real downside of the Timber Ridge is the steep price. Hovering around $105 it’s by far a cheap option if all you want is a cheap camping cabinet.

✅ Pros

  • Easy to stow away
  • Supports up to 200 lb.
  • Heavy-duty materials

❌ Cons

  • Steep price tag
  • Not ideal for rainy weather
  • Quite small to be honest

4. Portal Camping Table Organizer

The Portal Camping Table Organizer is different from the other camping cabinets because of its table-like top that works great as an extra kitchen countertop.

With it you’ll get 4 padded organizers. The blue bag is insulated and can be used as a cooler for all your drinks, and the 3 other bags are purely for storage. The bags measure 12″ x 11″ x 6″ and fits perfectly into the cabinet.

The legs of the Portal cabinet are telescopic and can fold away so the entire bottom of the cabinet is flush. Personally I like to have the legs extended to protect any belongings from potential rain.

Also, if you should have any trouble with the unit, Portal has a 1-year warranty. It’s honestly to be expected due to the $120 price tag.

✅ Pros

  • 1-year warranty
  • Blue bag works as a cooler
  • Easy to organize

❌ Cons

  • Pretty expensive
  • Tough to assemble
  • Not the best zippers

5. Cabela’s 6-Compartment Cabinet

If you’re the type of person who moves around often, then the Cabela’s 6-Compartment Camping Cabinet is a great choice because of its foldable aluminum frame. It sets up and collabses quickly and feels very rigid.

There’s 6 shelves and the entire unit measures 31,5″H x 33″W x 20″D when set up and just 3″H x 33″W x 20″D when collabsed. In other words, you’ll have plenty of storage space while being able to easily stow it away when it’s not being used.

The only real downside that’s not really a downside is that it weighs 20,5 lb. That’s more than 4 times as heavy as the Roadie (#1 on the list). It’ll probably translate into longevity which isn’t necessarily a bad thing 🙂

✅ Pros

  • Sets up and collapses easily
  • Lots of storage space
  • High-quality materials

❌ Cons

  • Weighs a whopping 20.5 lb.
  • Priced at $120
  • Definitely not waterproof

6. Outwell Skyros

Another great option is the Outwell Skyros that’s around $125. Just like the Cabela’s, the Outwell can be set up and collabsed in a matter of seconds.

What’s really cool is the fabric and mesh pockets on the side of the camping cabinet that allows for great organization. Gone are the days of fiddling around on a shelf to find your keys that you haven’t seen in a week 🙂

The zippers on the Skyros are amazing. I haven’t seen such quality zippers for a long time to be honest. But the sturdiness of the unit doesn’t come close to the Cabela’s. It’s a tad more flimsy and weighs 2 lb. less.

It measures 24″W x 19,6″D x 55″H when set up and 19,6″W x 24,2″D x 8,2″H when collabsed. I would’ve expected it to pack smaller but sadly it doesn’t.

✅ Pros

  • Sets up and collapses easily
  • High-quality zippers
  • Lots of pockets for organization

❌ Cons

  • Doesn’t pack small
  • Feels a little flimsy
  • Weighs 18 lb.

7. Bel-Sol Nancy

The Bel-Sol Nancy features a pretty unique folding mechanism where the legs bends and folds away so that the entire unit measures just 25″W x 20,8″D x 3,5″H. That’s smaller than any other camping cabinet on this list.

What’s really cool is it’s made purely from recyclable plastic and ships in eco-packaging so if you want a good conscience then the Bel-Sol Nancy is awesome.

The maximum load capacity is 66 lb. so you really don’t have to worry whether it’ll break or not when you shove items into the three large compartments.

Lastly, take a look at those “leather” straps. The Bel-Sol Nancy looks a thousand times better than all the other camping cabinets if you ask me. It’s so modern! 🙂

✅ Pros

  • Looks awesome
  • Made from recyclable materials
  • Packs insanely small

❌ Cons

  • Not a lot of storage for $115
  • Carrying bag feels cheap
  • Zippers could be better

8. Urban Outdoor Northwood

The Urban Outdoor Northwood is a little different from the other camping cabinets on this list. It looks nothing like a camping unit. More like something you’d have at home.

The tabletop is made of MDF, and the frame of the cabinet is made of wood. I know it looks like aluminum but it’s actually wood. The drawers are made of polyester and are perfect for all of your tools, clothes, and equipment.

The Northwood can be folded away when not in use. Simply remove the tabletop, slide out the drawers, and push the legs together. As easy as that! 🙂

It’s a pretty unique looking camping cabinet priced at $100. It’s definitely not for everyone but for those who’re looking for a bit of “hygge”, it’s the perfect one.

✅ Pros

  • No cheap plastics
  • Comes in at $100
  • Really cozy looking

❌ Cons

  • Definitely not waterproof
  • Look is not for everyone
  • Drawers slide awkwardly

9. Ozark Trail 3-Shelf Cabinet

The Ozark Trail 3-Shelf Cabinet is for those who need a tad extra storage space in their camper or tent but don’t want to spend a fortune getting it. It’s the cheapest camping cabinet on the list coming in at just $45.

By the looks of it you can instantly tell that it’s not the most sturdy cabinet. Walmart says “it has a heavy-duty, non-corrosive steel frame with a durable, weather-resistant fabric cover” but come on. It’s far from “heavy duty”.

What’s cool with is it collapses to practically nothing. It’ll take up almost no space in your camper/tent when you’re not using it.

You’ll also receive a 1-year warranty should your unit have any flaws. So it might not be heavy-duty but it’ll get the job done for a pretty cheap price.

✅ Pros

  • Very cheap at $45
  • Collapses really nicely
  • 1-year warranty

❌ Cons

  • Not made of quality materials
  • Telescopic legs feel flimsy
  • Blue color isn’t exactly pretty

10. Bel-Sol Jutta

Deja vu much? Number #7 on this list was the Bel-Sol Nancy which is almost identical to the Bel-Sol Jutta but the Jutta is almost twice as big and more than twice as expensive coming in at a whopping $277.

It features 6 large compartments that are all made of hard plastic which is really nice. Here’s the thing; the Bel-Sol feels good. It feels like an insanely sturdy and well-constructed camping cabinet. The only real downside is the price.

When collapsed it measures 34,2″W x 20,8″D x 3,5″H and 33″W x 20″D x 31,5″H when fully extended. It also weighs 21,6 lb. so it’s not exactly going to be lightweight.

✅ Pros

  • Made of quality materials
  • A ton of storage space
  • Looks really awesome

❌ Cons

  • Insanely expensive at $277
  • Not exactly lightweight
  • Zippers could be better

Final thoughts

Choosing a camping cabinet for your camper or tent can seem like a daunting task when you’ve got so many options in terms of pricing, quality, etc.

A good rule of thumb is to always check the reviews of a given product before buying and to make sure that you’ve got the possibility to ship the product back if you regret your purchase.

If you’ve got any questions about the products above that you’d like my two cents on, then feel free to throw us an email over at the contact page and we’ll try to help you out to the best of my abilities.

Other than that, happy cabinet hunting! 🙂
